Description: A weekend festival guaranteed to open your eyes and ears to new musical and poetic experiences.
In each of the first three years Awaken Your Senses have tried to introduce new things on a ‘suck it and see' basis, and have discovered that audiences rather like spoken word and poetry, would like a bit less classical music and thoroughly enjoy a lighter event, preferably with a bar attached...and we can't blame you.
So, they are presenting a new, improved festival with the tentative title of VOCAL CHORDS, which, if you like it and approve they would like to grow and develop. They don't aim to compete with other larger festivals, such as Cheltenham, but would like to think that they can put on a long weekend of events that entertain, amuse and stimulate and this year they have done their very best to do it at the lowest ticket prices they could get away with.
Poetry events feature a Luke Wright/Elvis McGonagall double bill; an open slam run by Spiel Productions (Marcus Moore and Sara-Jane Arbury); and local respected poet Miki Byrne.
