Ambit Summer Poetry Competition 2017 |
Ambit Magazine announces its 2017 Poetry Competition.
The theme for this year will be RESISTANCE. The winners will be judged by George Szirtes.
The first place prize will be £500, second place £250 and £100 for third.
The competition will close on 15 July.
The winners will be announced on 1 September on the Ambit website.
All three winning poems will be published in issue 230 of Ambit Magazine, and the poets will be invited to read at the launch on 24 October 2017 in London.
Submissions can be made either on-line via Submittable www.ambit.submittable.com or by post.
Each submission costs £6, and for over five submissions you will receive a free recent copy of Ambit in the post.
Please note we do not accept simultaneous submissions under any circumstances.
Last year our winning poet had to forgo the first prize as the poem had already been published and we would hate to see that happen again.
All judging will be done strictly anonymously so please do not put your name anywhere on the Word document containing your poem, only on the Submittable cover letter.
