2015 Ted Hughes Award is now open for recommendations.
The Poetry Society are delighted to announce that the 2015 Ted Hughes Award is now open for recommendations!
The three judges are award-winning poet Jackie Kay, Forward prize nominated Andrew McMillan and novelist Ali Smith – winner of this year’s Bailey’s Women’s prize for fiction.
Jackie Kay said of this year’s award:
“The Ted Hughes award: it’s fantastic that an award exists like this that recognises poetry’s journeying across the art forms. I’m looking forward to being surprised by the unexpected finds- the future is collaborative surely, and it will be exciting to see and hear how the art and the theatre world meet the poetic one.”
While Andrew McMillan commented:
“I’m thrilled to be on this panel and looking for poetry that has made a conscious effort to reach out to new and different audiences. Poetry is a conversation, between a writer, other writers, an audience; I’m looking for the things that had the most interesting things to say”
