Fiona Hamilton is a writer of poetry, fiction and non-fiction based in Bristol. Fiona's poetry includes two collections: 'Skinandi', which explores inheritance through landscape and family stories - its poems were featured on Radio 4's 'Poetry Please'; and 'Poems for People', an illustrated book for younger readers. Recent non-fiction includes the chapter 'Signals, Lines and Reflections: Writing on Trains' in a forthcoming book about writers' experiences edited by Bolton, Thompson & Field (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2010). She writes the LapiDiary webpage for Lapidus, the UK organisation that promotes creative writing and reading for wellbeing and health. Fiona works in schools and the NHS as a writing facilitator. She studied English at Oxford University, drama at East 15 Acting School and has counselling and teaching qualifications.

Fiona teaches Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes at Bristol University and contributes to undergraduate and doctorate courses in Medical Humanities and Psychology, encouraging students to take a poetic look at their work and to explore personal narratives through writing. |
