The Jordans Solicitors Cheltenham Poetry Festival is delighted to launch the first ever

Children's Poetry Competition

in association with The Gloucestershire Echo.

Prizes include books, cash prizes, the chance to perform at a Cheltenham Poetry Festival Prize-Winning Event and

publication in the Gloucestershire Echo.

The competition, which will be judged by the children's tam at Waterstones Cheltenham is open to children of age 5 to age 15,

and writers can submit up to 2 poems on any theme.

The competition is split into 3 catagories: age 5-8yrs , age 9 -11 yrs, age 12-15 yrs.

The competition will open on March 1st and close for entries on May 1st 2014

How to enter

Submit up to 2 poems, which must be our own original and unaided work.

Submission

Poems may be either typed or clearly hand-written. The text of the poem should be on one side only of an A4 sheet.

Entries MUST be clearly marked with the entrants name, age and contact address. Please deliver to Waterstones, Cheltenham

Prizes

Cash and book prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up in each category.

A total of £150 cash prizes has been donated by Jordans Solicitors.

Prize Giving

Winners will be invited to receive their reward at the Cheltenahm Poetry Festival Prize-giving Ceremony (date tbc)
