Culture 24 Museums at Night competition (deadline 9th May)
Five people will win an exclusive night at the historic home of British poetry publishing, the Faber and Faber Archive, in the
Culture 24 Museums at Night competition
Archivist Robert Brown will take five winners on a journey through 80 years of treasures held at publishing giant Faber and Faber's London offices
at Bloomsbury House, which are not normally open to the public.
The unique publishing archive ranges from Faber's famous early 20th century poetry collection, including manuscripts of TS Eliot and WH Auden,
to books on farming, gardening, art and architecture.
The night will end with a special reading from the poet Daljit Nagra, whose new book, The Ramayana: A Retelling, is an enthralling new version
of one of the world’s great epics written in Nagra’s typically vibrant and eclectic style, bursting with energy, pathos and humour.
Daljit's first collection, Look We Have Coming to Dover!, won the 2007 Forward Prize for Best First Collection and was shortlisted for the
Costa Poetry Award. In 2008 he won the South Bank Show/Arts Council Decibel Award, and Tippoo Sultan’s Incredible White-Man-Eating Tiger
Toy-Machine!!! was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize in 2011.
The tour will take place on Thursday May 15 from 6.30pm-8pm at the Faber Archive in London’s Bloomsbury.
Competition closes at 5pm on Friday May 9.
