Q: How do I apply to perform at Bristol Poetry Festival?
A:
The Bristol Poetry Festival is organised and co-ordinated by Poetry Can.
Programming for Bristol Poetry Festival usually begins the previous December and goes through until March/April.
We usually book poets or performers we have seen read or perform. Or who can provide an excellent reference from a reputable/equivalent promoter.

When applying to perform at Bristol Poetry Festival it is helpful to:

Send us an info pack that:
Says a little bit about yourself as a poet /performer
Includes some examples of your work
Includes contact details of a promoter who can comment on your reading/performance experience.
Includes your contact details.

Please remember that every year lots more poets/performers want to appear at the Poetry Festival than there are places and resources for them to do so. If you want to take part in the Festival but are not invited to do so it probably won't be a decision based on your qualities as a reader or performer alone but on a range of factors contributing to the cohesive design of the Festival as a whole.

Promoters
If you are a promoter with a poet, show or event you would like to showcase during the Bristol Poetry Festival please contact Poetry Can as soon as possible from December 1 of the previous year.

Please feel free to telephone Poetry Can on (0117) 933 0900
